Eastern Tiger Swallowtail (female)

004cs

It took me a few days, but I did spot a female Eastern Tiger Swallowtail. I don’t see these big yellow butterflies very often and usually only one at a time.  005cs

The butterflies and hummingbirds love this plant, but I cant remember it’s name.

I managed to get one picture of it’s face…018cs

but she kept turning her back to me…guess she wanted to show me how beautiful she is.

You can see why she is easier to photograph than some of the other large butterflies.

  2. Just gorgeous! I love trying to get good shots of this butterfly. Some varieties are so hard to photograph because they are constantly fluttering their wings!! Good job with the photos and video.

  5. The plant is Jatropha - great photos!! I live in Florida too - on the east coast and I'm SO jealous of anyone who gets Painted Buntings at their feeders.....
